Havana Modern: the Architecture of Nicolás Quintana is an upcoming documentary film about the architect Nicolás Quintana (1925-2011) and the Modern Movement in Havana. The film traces Quintana’s career as he developed his practice and connected to a larger movement in Cuba and abroad that fundamentally transformed Cuban culture. Drawing from personal testimonies and from new and archival material, Havana Modern also offers a view, then and now, of Quintana’s work and of the restless, creative city he experienced, remembered and reimagined.
